SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR UGANDAN AND AFRICAN STUDENTS

MAIN SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE:
1. MASTERCARD FOUNDATION SCHOLARS PROGRAM
This program partners with top universities across Africa and the world, including Makerere University in Uganda. It covers tuition, accommodation, books, and living expenses. It also provides mentorship and leadership training.
2. DAAD SCHOLARSHIPS (GERMANY)
The German Academic Exchange Service offers scholarships for African students to pursue Masters and PhD studies in Germany. The package often includes monthly stipends, health insurance, and travel costs.
3. CHEVENING SCHOLARSHIPS (UK)
The UK government funds this program to support future leaders. It fully finances a one-year master�s degree in the UK, covering tuition, flights, and living costs.
4. COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIPS
Offered by the UK�s Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, this program supports students from Commonwealth countries. Ugandans can apply for Masters or PhDs in any discipline.
5. FULBRIGHT PROGRAM (USA)
The Fulbright program offers scholarships for graduate studies and research in the United States. It promotes cultural exchange and academic growth.
6. AFRICAN UNION SCHOLARSHIPS
These scholarships are provided by the African Union for studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) at Pan-African Universities.
7. AGA KHAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
Focused on students from developing countries, including Uganda. It provides 50% grant and 50% loan support for postgraduate education.
8. LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND NGO SCHOLARSHIPS
Apart from international opportunities, local governments and NGOs in Uganda also provide scholarships, especially in health, teaching, and technology sectors.
